Happy International Day of the Girl!

Mary T. Meagher is famous for swimming.She held the world records for the 100 and 200 meter butterfly dash for nearly 2 decades.She also finished the 100 meter butterfly in 57.93 seconds.

Our famous woman is Margo Oberg and she was famous for surfing. One thing she was famous for was that when she was 11 years old she was the youngest competitor at a surfing event and she won. Also by the age of 18 she won 100 first place trophies and she won the circuit's first three pro world titles. -Zach, Eva, Adrian

Mary Lou Retton is famous for being a gymnast. She has earned one silver, one bronze, and five gold medals in the Olympics. She was also on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Wheaties cereal boxes, and some TV shows in her schedule. She is famous for her powerful, full-twisting layout double Tsukahara.

Susan Butcher is famous for Dog sledding. She is a four time winner of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. She was twice named Women's Sport Foundation Professional Sports Women. Caleb, Maggie, Bella

Helen Mayer is famous for fencing and shes a three-time world champion fencer also, she won six German championships.
